Understanding Detoxification

Detoxification Is More Than a Juice Cleanse.

Detoxification is not simply a temporary cleanse or a few days of drinking green juice. It is a much broader conversation about the body's natural processes and the systems involved in maintaining normal physiological function.

At Plants From Now On, I approach health by looking at the bigger picture — considering nutrition, lifestyle, botanicals and individual health history as interconnected parts of the journey towards better well-being.

What detoxification means in normal physiology

In everyday physiology, "detoxification" describes how the body transforms and eliminates waste products and other substances — those produced by normal metabolism and those we take in from food, air and our environment. This happens continuously, every day, without a special programme.

The organs and systems involved

Several organs and systems participate in the body's processing and elimination functions:

  • The liver — transforms many substances so they can be eliminated
  • The kidneys — filter the blood and eliminate waste through urine
  • The digestive system — processes food and eliminates what is not absorbed
  • The lungs — exchange gases and release carbon dioxide
  • The skin — a protective barrier that also participates through sweat
  • The lymphatic system — part of the body's fluid balance and immune function

Why everyday nutrition and lifestyle matter

These systems rely on the materials and conditions we give them. Nutrition, hydration, sleep, movement and daily habits all influence general health — which is why lasting, everyday choices tend to matter more than short, dramatic interventions.

What regenerative detoxification means in my work

The regenerative detoxification philosophy, as taught by Dr. Robert Morse, places particular emphasis on organ systems, the lymphatic system, nutrition — especially fruits and plant foods — botanicals and the body's internal environment. It views health as closely related to how well the body can process and eliminate. This is a philosophy and a school of thought within natural health, not an established medical consensus, and I present it as such.

How nutrition, herbs and lifestyle come together

In practice, this means personalised nutritional guidance, carefully chosen herbal and botanical suggestions, and lifestyle recommendations — all adapted to the person in front of me, their health history and their circumstances. The aim is to support the body's normal physiological functions and encourage healthier daily foundations.

I do not claim that particular foods, herbs or protocols remove toxins, regenerate cells, cure diseases or reverse health conditions.
